Deyan Donkov is one of the leading Bulgarian film and theatre actors. He studied acting in the class of prof. Encho Halachev and Snezhina Tankovska and a master's degree with prof. Krikor Azaryan. Since 2003 he is part of the troupe of Ivan Vazov National Theatre. He has also appeared in numerous Bulgarian and foreign film productions. For his performance in “Emigrants” directed by Ivaylo Hristov and Lyudmil Todorov, he received the Golden Rose at the Varna Film Festival in 2003 and the special award of the international federation of film critics FIPRESCI at the Sofia Film Fest. On the theatre stage Deyan Donkov has won numerous awards. In 1999 he received “Asker” for his debut for the role of Valmont in “Dangerous Liaisons”, two years later he received the “Icarus” for the best male role for Lazar in “Worshipping fleas”, in 2003 he received the ‘Icarus’ again for the best male role for Platonov in the play of the same name. In 2004 he won the Askeer for a supporting role for Belyaev in " A Month in the Countryside", and in 2007 he won the Askeer for a male role in Alexander Morfov's " Don Juan".
He has also appeared in "Love's Labour's Lost " , " Three Sisters", "Dangerous Liaisons"," The Bell" and others.
